Welcome to Freshman English. How exciting to begin your high school career. I am so glad to be a part of your journey. we have so much ahead of us. This year is full and moves quickly. I encourage you to get help and ask questions. Don’t fall too far behind, because catching up can feel like a difficult task.

Some of the books we will read this semester are: The Odyssey, Of Mice and Men, The Pearl, House on Mango Street and Romeo and Juliet.

We will write essays: Literary analysis, autobiographical, research papers and in class essays.

We will focus on building vocabulary through word lists and regular tests.

You are expected to read an outside reading book from the list I supply to you, You will read at least 2 books per semester and be tested on them.

Your next book test is November 12th
